Growing up in an Italian-American family, food has always been one of the main focuses in my life. My family has always gathered around food to celebrate births, special life events, holidays, and even during hard times, like the loss of loved ones. No matter the moment, it’s always been food, food, food!
It wasn’t until my third year in college, majoring in Biology, that I took my first clinical nutrition elective – I instantly fell in love and knew I wanted to shift gears and follow the path to become a Registered Dietitian. My background in biology and chemistry was a perfect segway into the field of human nutrition, and I never looked back.
My broad experiences have continued to cultivate my passion for all things farming and food, and to see the power food and nutrition have to change one’s life. Whether it’s speaking to groups both large and small, or working one-on-one, my goal is to empower people, young and old alike, with the knowledge and tools to harness the power of real food and integrative nutrition. A healthy food lifestyle, hands down, is the foundation of optimal health.
Fast forward to today – my passion and life’s work continues to be food, food, food! It’s just shifted from ravioli, garlic bread, and tiramisu, to pastured, grass-fed beef and free-range eggs from the local farm, to beets and garlic grown in my backyard garden!
